gather-in is shutting down : FAQ

1. When will gather-in close?

gather-in will close permanently on 31 December 2025, after which the site will no longer be accessible.


2. Why is gather-in closing?

We launched gather-in with great excitement and built many meaningful memories together. Over time, however, we realised that it wasn’t possible to grow and sustain the platform at the scale we had envisioned.
In short, the product didn’t fully meet the needs we aimed to address. For that reason, we’ve decided to bring things to a close in a transparent and respectful way.


3. What will happen to tickets or gatherings I’ve already registered for?

If you’ve registered for a gathering taking place after 31 December 2025, your booking will be reviewed and fully refunded.
If we need any additional information to process your refund, our team will contact you via email.


4. I’m a place owner — will my earnings be paid out?

Yes. In line with the clause you accepted when creating your place — “Earnings will be transferred once they exceed 500 TRY” — all qualifying payments will be processed in full based on our records.
If your account details are incomplete, please update them in the system first and then email us at [email protected] with your place name and IBAN.


5. Does gather-in store my personal data?

No. gather-in has never stored your payment details (card or bank information) or images (photos or videos) in its own database.
When the platform closes, all remaining information — including your name, email address, profile photo, bio, gathering history, and messages — will be permanently deleted.


6. Can I access my data after the closure?

All content on gather-in will be deleted as of 31 December 2025 and will no longer be accessible.
If you’d like a copy of your data, please email [email protected] by 1 December 2025, specifying which information you’d like to receive.


7. What will happen to photos and videos taken at gatherings?

gather-in does not automatically store these visuals.
If a photo or video of you was shared during a gathering, please contact the place owner directly.


8. Will gather-in’s social media accounts remain active?

Yes, our social media accounts will remain online as an archive.
Please note that after 31 December 2025, we’ll no longer be able to respond to messages, comments, or requests.


9. Who can I contact if I have questions?

10. Can I continue organising online or in-person gatherings under my place name?

Absolutely. Your place name belongs entirely to you, and gather-in holds no rights or claims over it.
You’re free to continue organising gatherings on any platform or in any physical space.
We only ask that you refrain from using the gather-in name when promoting or hosting those gatherings.
